Features

A pro studio that fits in a browser tab

Lumier Pro is in early access and growing fast. Each feature below is marked honestly: what you can use today, what's coming in version 1.0, and what's further out.

In early access usable today   Version 1.0 in development for the first public release   Later on the roadmap

Painting that feels right

Latency is the product. The brush engine runs off the main thread in WebAssembly and draws on the GPU, so the stroke keeps up with your hand.

In early access

Pen-first input

Pressure and tilt from Apple Pencil, Windows Ink and pen tablets, with palm rejection and a choice of stabilisers.

In early access

Starter brushes

Pencil, ink, paint and airbrush brushes with paper grain, plus an eraser that uses any brush.

Version 1.0

A 40-brush library

Original brushes made from real media, with a full dynamics editor: pressure, tilt, speed and randomness driving size, opacity, flow, angle and colour.

Version 1.0

Wet paint and smudge

Colour mixing, wet edges, build-up and glazing for painterly work.

Photoshop-level editing

Compositing is tested pixel by pixel against a reference implementation that follows Photoshop's blend maths, so layered files look the way they should when they travel between apps.

In early access

Layers that behave

Groups, pass-through, masks, clipping, opacity and fill, locks and alpha lock, with unlimited undo that survives closing the app.

Version 1.0

Every blend mode

Normal through Luminosity, including the tricky ones: Linear Light, Pin Light, Hard Mix, Darker and Lighter Colour.

Version 1.0

Selections and transforms

Lasso, magic wand, quick select, feathering; free transform, distort, perspective and mesh warp.

Later

Adjustments and filters

Curves, levels, HSL, gradient maps and LUTs as adjustment layers, plus blur, sharpen, liquify and stylise filters.

Inking with confidence

Clean line art is about control. Lumier Pro gives you the stabilisers comic and manga artists rely on.

In early access

Stabilisers

Smoothing and pull-string ("lazy mouse") modes for long, steady strokes.

Version 1.0

Post-correction

Strokes re-fitted after you lift the pen, with adjustable strength.

Later

Vector line layers

Editable line work with pressure, and line tools in the spirit of Clip Studio Paint.

Later

Rulers and guides

Symmetry, 1, 2 and 3-point perspective and isometric rulers.

Your files, not ours

Every import and export comes with a fidelity report listing anything that couldn't be carried across exactly. No silent flattening, ever.

In early access

.lumier documents

The native format is the live document itself, saved stroke by stroke with full history.

Version 1.0

Photoshop PSD and PSB

Read and write layered files, including groups, masks, clipping, blend modes and 16-bit colour.

Version 1.0

Procreate files and brushes

Open .procreate documents and import Procreate brushes and brush sets.

Version 1.0

ABR brushes and images

Import Photoshop ABR brushes; export PNG, JPEG, TIFF and print-ready PDF.

Works everywhere, even offline

One app for iPad, Windows, Mac, Android and Chromebook. Install it from the browser; it launches full-screen and works without a connection.

In early access

Install and go offline

Add Lumier Pro to your home screen, dock or Start menu and paint on a plane.

In early access

Never lose work

Every stroke is saved on your device as you lift the pen. If the app is closed mid-stroke, it recovers on reopen.

Version 1.0

Adaptive layout

Phone, tablet and desktop layouts from one codebase, with full keyboard shortcuts.

Later

Sync and store apps

Optional sync between your devices, and native builds in the app stores.
